What is GIScience

Now, many online study programmes offering GIS online courses. Some like UNIGIS propose a name GI System and Science, while many others such as Worldwide Universities Network  "Geographic Information System" only. Do u think that GIS should be a science (what's the difference between GIS and quantitative geography if the two methods are quantitative spatial science). Also, GIS science is usually mainly practiced by geographers. So should GIS and geography be separate science?

About GIS Officer Job

hello all, in my first entry, I would like to open a discussion about GIS Officer job. Now this is my position in one of international environmental NGOs in Indonesia. According to u, what quality does GIS Officer should possess?  This discussion is open for employee as well as employer.

Ok, for introduction, I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography. I don't think that my degree is sufficient enough to work in this field. I only know basic science of GIS and a bit remote sensing. I think I should continue my study at the master's level. what do ya think? Please comment!!
