Siak's Role in Riau's Economy

After publishing my own undergraduate final project, I have the permission from my dearest friend (Astisiasari Nataningratan) to publish our own journal. We wrote this journal just after we graduated from University of Indonesia, when we were unemployed waiting for employers' kindness to employ us, haha. It's just basic analysis of Siak's economy because we both frustatingly did not have much time to make this journal stand out in peer reviewed journal. 

Abstract

As an emerging economy, Indonesia must boost its each province’s various economic sectors. The aim of this research is to understand Siak’s role in Riau’s economy; and to propose planning based on the results of economic base and shift-share calculations. Mining and Quarrying sector was the only basic industry in the region. It was also the most competitive sector. Key words: economic development, location quotient, shift-share, Siak, Riau
